UP: Devotees urge PM Modi to visit 'Ayodhya of South'

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 5 : After the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha programme in Ayodhya that was held on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again visited Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lala on May 5.
Meanwhile, the devotees urged the PM to pay a visit to Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in the Mahbubabad district of Telangana, which is popularly known as 'Ayodhya of the South.'
PM Modi addressed a public meeting in Etawah around 2.45 pm and held another later in the day at Dhaurahra around 4.45 pm. Also, during his visit, PM Modi offered prayers and performed puja at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya around 7 pm.
The visit to Ayodhya on Sunday was his first since the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Ram Lalla on January 22, this year.
The devotees who came to visit the Ram Mandir raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and also requested Prime Minister Modi to visit the temple of Lord Ram in 'Ayodhya' of the south. Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in the Mahbubabad district of Telangana.
The devotees who visited the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple said that just as Prime Minister Modi has developed the temple in Ayodhya in the Northern state of Uttar Pradesh and the city witnessed a lot of development around it, and similarly, if Prime Minister Modi visits the 'Ayodhya of South', there will be development here as well and the temple will expand.
Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple is located on the banks of the Godavari River in Bhadrachalam town in eastern Telangana.
This temple is also revered as 'Dakshin Ayodhya'. This holy place attracts millions of devotees from all over the world. It is the abode of Lord Rama (the seventh incarnation of Shri Mahavishnu). The importance of this temple dates back to the Ramayana period.
According to belief, this is the same place where Lord Rama spent his exile with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman.
The current President of India, Droupadi Murmu had also visited Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple.
While speaking with ANI, temple priest Krishnamacharaya said that after the consecration programme of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, the number of devotees visiting the Ram temple has increased. He said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come to this Ram temple (Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam) for darshan, this is the demand of the devotees."
