Assam CM's flood relief work video from Darrang goes viral, crosses 100 million views on social media

Guwahati (Assam) [India], August 21 : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's video during the state's ongoing flood relief work, which featured his work on a war footing to strengthen vulnerable embankments with geo bags in Darrang, has gone viral, garnering over 100 million views on his social media.
In the video, the Assam CM interacted with the residents of Darrang and reviewed the progress of the flood relief efforts in the area. He assured the locals about the repair of roads in the city. The video has now garnered 124 million views on Facebook, becoming one of the highest-watched clips in Assam.
Himanta shared the video on his Facebook and X handle on August 8.
"We are working on a war footing to strengthen vulnerable embankments with geo bags in Darrang and protect the district from large-scale flooding. Reviewed the progress on the ground and interacted with locals. The work will be completed in the next few days," wrote CM Sarma on his X.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and sought his blessings and guidance on the state's ongoing flood recovery efforts and development agenda.
During the meeting at Sewa Teerth in South Block, the Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister of Assam's roadmap for the next phase of the #AssamFloodResponse, focusing on rebuilding affected areas, restoring livelihoods and ensuring comprehensive recovery."
Throughout the #AssamFloodResponse, Adarniya Modi Ji remained in constant touch, closely reviewing the situation and extending every possible assistance," the Chief Minister said in a post on X following the meeting.
