Koppal (Karnataka) [India], January 7 : Farmers on Wednesday expressed concern as a huge hole developed in the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal, causing water loss.
Raitha Gram Panchayat member Haider Ali said that if the authorities do not address this immediately, farmers in the Raichur and Sindhanur areas will not even have water to drink.

Farmers have expressed dissatisfaction, stating they are suffering due to the authorities' negligence.
If a hole occurs in the canal and water flows out, the crops of the land in that area will be destroyed. Moreover,
the canal can break at any time, and if it breaks, the farmers there will have to face difficulties. Paddy planting is currently underway, and water is needed, the locals complained that if the canal water does not come in time, the farmers will be in trouble.

Organiser Kotesh expressed anger, saying that farmers along the left bank canal will have to worry in the coming days.

More than 3,000 cusecs of water are being released from Tungabhadra Dam into the left bank canal. As a result of the authorities not inspecting the canal, a hole has appeared in the canal, and water is leaking excessively, they claimed.
