Tehran [Iran], February 10 : Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on the Iranian nation to show unity and resolve on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, emphasising that such national steadfastness will frustrate the country's enemies, as reported by Iranian state broadcaster Press TV.
In a televised message issued ahead of the rallies set for 11 February to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei portrayed the occasion as a powerful display of Iran's strength, dignity, and collective determination.
"Bahman 22nd (February 11) every year is the day of unveiling the power and dignity of the Iranian nation," the Leader said, describing the Iranian people as determined, resilient, appreciative, and fully aware of their circumstances.
He highlighted that the nation achieved a "great victory" on 11 February 1979 by liberating itself from "foreign interference," yet external forces have persistently sought to undo those accomplishments since then.
Building on this historical foundation, Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed, "The Iranian nation is standing firm," adding that "The symbol of this steadfastness is Bahman 22nd."
He pointed to the annual anniversary demonstrations as "unparalleled," noting that no other country marks its independence with such widespread and consistent public involvement each year.
These rallies, he explained, "force those who covet Iran and its interests to retreat," underscoring their role in deterring external ambitions.
Ayatollah Khamenei then stressed the true sources of national strength, stating, "National power is related more to the will of nations and their steadfastness than to missiles and aircraft," and urged citizens to maintain resolve in every aspect of life.
"Disappoint the enemy," the Leader stated, explaining that a nation remains exposed so long as its adversaries are not discouraged.
He identified unity, strong will, motivation, and resistance to outside pressures as the essential pillars supporting Iran's national power.
Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed hope that the country's youth would keep advancing in science, ethical behaviour, and both material and spiritual growth, thereby adding to national pride.
He noted that the 11 February rallies reflect these qualities, as people take to the streets to demonstrate unity, loyalty to the Islamic Republic, and dedication to the nation.
He further voiced hope that this year's anniversary events would further elevate Iran's standing, consistent with the pattern observed in previous years.
