Patna (Bihar) [India], July 2 : As political tensions rise ahead of the upcoming Bihar elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Sanjay Yadav hit back at claims that his party brought 'jungle raj' to the state.
Yadav taunted that once Nitish Kumar's party is out of power or he is removed, the NDA will likely label his rule as 'jungle raj' as well.
He questioned the electoral performance of both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, suggesting that their claims are hollow without popular support.
Yadav accused the NDA of hypocrisy, pointing out that many of its current leaders were part of the RJD government during the period they now claim was marked by 'jungle raj', questioning the legitimacy of the NDA's claims, highlighting that many of its leaders, including Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, have changed allegiances over time.
In an interview with ANI, Sanjay Yadav said, "In Bihar, no one ever had any complaint from Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav...70 per cent of those running everything back then are today in the NDA...In which party was Samrat Choudhary, who is now the Deputy CM...The day Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's party is finished or he is removed from power, they will also call this rule a jungle raj too...When did Samrat Choudhary win the last elections?...When did Bihar CM Nitish Kumar win the last elections?... The public knows everything."
Yadav further criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said there is a big gap between his words and actions adding that he never does what he promises, the key difference between him and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.
"...There is a big difference between what Bihar CM Nitish Kumar says and does. Nitsh Ji never does what he says. This is the basic difference between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar," Yadav said.
Yadav also took a sharp dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's health, and said, "I won't comment on the mental situation of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Action speaks louder than words...One should observe the body language of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar...You would get the answer about it..."
Yadav said the BJP brought Nitish Kumar back into their alliance only because they feared losing the upcoming elections, "...The BJP knew they were losing the elections, which is why they brought Bihar CM Nitish Kumar into their alliance," Yadav said.
Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the dates.
