Chandigarh [India], October 16 : In a significant step towards promoting responsible road behaviour among the younger generation, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has launched the Road Safety Club Campaign, an initiative aimed at nurturing responsible young citizens and transforming students into Road Safety Ambassadors.
Under this campaign, over 2,000 students from more than 100 schools across Chandigarh have already joined the movement. Through engaging workshops, awareness drives, and interactive activities, students are being sensitised about traffic discipline, pedestrian safety, and the importance of following road rules.

Encouraged by the enthusiastic participation so far, the Chandigarh Traffic Police now plans to extend the campaign to all remaining schools in the city, ensuring every student contributes towards creating safer roads.

The campaign is being spearheaded under the visionary leadership of Sagar Preet Hooda, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, and is implemented under the supervision of Pushpendra Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Sumer Pratap Singh, SSP Traffic & Security.
DySP Traffic Lakshay Pandey is leading the on-ground execution along with the dedicated Chandigarh Traffic Police team.
Speaking about the initiative, officials emphasised that educating youth on traffic safety is vital to building a culture of discipline and responsibility on city roads.
This campaign underscores the Chandigarh Police's commitment to making the city a model for traffic safety and civic awareness.
