Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 23 : Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagenthiran on Saturday condemned the posters depicting him in comparison with Lord Ram and urged the party workers not to release such images equating him to a deity.
Nagenthiran noted that BJP workers showed certain posters equating him to Lord Ram during the 'Booth Karyakarta Sammelan' in Tirunelveli on Friday.
Sharing an X post, the BJP leader wrote, "I was deeply distressed to learn that certain posters had depicted me in comparison with Lord Shri Ramar yesterday. I have always held the conviction that divine power can never, and should never, be equated with humans."

Adding to his devotion for the deity, he recalled raising objections against the remarks against Lord Ram and Andaal Thaayar.
"During the discussions on the Sethusamudram issue, when inappropriate remarks were made about Bhagawan Sri Ramar, I was the one who registered my strong objections in the floor of the Legislative Assembly itself. Likewise, when unwarranted statements were made about Andaal thaayar, I was the one to raise my voice in her defence at the very outset," he wrote.
"Given the depth of my devotion and respect towards our deities, I strongly disapprove of such portrayals and condemn the release of these images. I sincerely urge our beloved BJP karyakartas to ensure that such actions are not repeated in the future," the X post read.
Meanwhile, on Friday, he attended the BJP event in Tirunelveli, led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin of doing "black deeds" and termed the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government as the "most corrupt" in response to the Opposition protests over the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill brought by the Centre in Parliament.
Addressing the 'Booth Karyakarta Sammelan', Shah said, "Modi ji has presented the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. The entire opposition started protesting. What is the Constitution Bill? If any CM or Prime Minister goes to jail, they will have to resign from their post. The opposition is asking, 'What is the need for this bill?' Senior DMK ministers K Ponmudy and Senthil Balaji were in jail for eight months. They did not resign. Tell me, can you run the government while being in jail? These DMK people call the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill a black bill. Stalin Babu, you have no right to call this bill a black bill because you are a Chief Minister who does black deeds."
Addressing the public meeting, Nagenthiran slammed MK Stalin and called his government a "disaster model".
He said, "The Chief Minister calls it the 'Dravidian Model'. Listen to the people. They call the current government 'Disaster Model'."
