New Delhi [India], October 6 : The 'Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan' campaign is to be launched by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, as a nationwide initiative to encourage preventive health practices and Ayurveda-based lifestyles.
The campaign, which was unveiled during the 10th Ayurveda Day celebrations in Goa, was described as "a national awakening towards preventive health" by Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav. He remarked that "Ayurveda's timeless guidance on diet, lifestyle, and balance is being brought into the daily lives of people in a scientific, accessible manner."
Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of CCRAS, explained that the CCRAS Swasthya Assessment Scale has been developed as a "pioneering tool" to integrate Ayurvedic principles with structured health evaluation. "This campaign will generate valuable insights on public health trends while motivating people to adopt simple, preventive lifestyle measures," he stated.
The campaign, which is being planned for implementation through CCRAS institutions, state-level Ayurveda centres, and Ayurveda teaching colleges, is being described as more than just a health assessment. According to Jadhav, it is "a people's movement to reimagine health through Ayurveda."
The CCRAS Swasthya Assessment Scale was noted to rely on a questionnaire rooted in classical Ayurvedic texts, which will allow participants to gain awareness of key health indicators. It was emphasised by Prof. Acharya that this tool "encourages adherence to appropriate diet and lifestyle practices."
With participation expected from institutions, students, physicians, and the general public, the campaign is being positioned as one of India's largest preventive health awareness drives. It was highlighted by Jadhav that "every citizen is being encouraged to evaluate and understand their health status," laying the groundwork for a "healthier Bharat."
The event was attended by Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, and Shripad Yesso Naik.
