
Four alumnus of DU-DSE in EAC-PM, University VC says "proud moment"

New Delhi [India], June 11 : Four academics associated with the University of Delhi (DU) and Delhi School of Economics (DSE) have been appointed as part-time or full-time members of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was reconstituted earlier this month.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh expressed happiness over the inclusion of academics and experts, who have been associated with DU DSE, in EAC-PM and said it is a proud moment.
The Vice Chancellor said that these eminent economists will make an important contribution in the formulation of the country's economic policies. He said that the four members of the DU DSE family have vast and diverse knowledge of the Indian economy.
Prof Ram Singh, Director of Delhi School of Economics and Delhi School of Public Policy & Governance, said that Chairman of the Prime Minister's new Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM) Professor S. Mahendra Dev is an alumnus of DU DSE.
DSE alumnus Dr Shamika Ravi has been appointed as the full-time member of EAC-PM.
DSE alumnus Professor Chetan Ghate has also been appointed as part-time member of EAC-PM.
Former Director of DSE, Professor Pami Dua, has also been appointed as a part-time member of EAC-PM.
Prof Ram Singh thanked DU Vice Chancellor for his continued support and guidance for DSE's "new initiatives and activities".
The EAC-PM was without a full-time chairman since November 2024, after the death of Bibek Debroy.
Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) is an independent body constituted to give advice on economic and related issues to the Government of India, specifically to the Prime Minister.
