Gujarat: Ship anchored at Porbandar Subhashnagar Jetty catches fire

Porbandar (Gujarat) [India], September 22 : A ship anchored at Porbandar Subhashnagar Jetty in Gujarat caught fire on Monday. The fire dousing operation began with three fire brigade vehicles arriving at the scene, said officials.
The ship, which belongs to Jamnagar-based HRM & Sons, was towed to the middle of the sea as the fire became severe due to its load of rice. The ship was bound for Bosaso, Somalia.

Under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over the northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Myanmar-South Bangladesh coasts, a low-pressure area has formed over the northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood at 0530 hrs IST today. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and is likely to move west-northwestwards during the next 24 hours towards the northwest Bay of Bengal.
