Mallapur (Telangana) [India], July 6 : Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Telangana Chief Minister during his address at the Hamali Union general body meeting in Mallapur, alleging that Revanth Reddy carries "bags of money for his bosses in Delhi".
Drawing a sharp contrast between the labour of the workers and the alleged actions of the state leadership, KTR remarked, "Hamalis work hard carrying bags of paddy, but the Chief Minister is also working hard. You know better than I what kind of bags he is carrying and where he is taking them. He is working hard carrying bags of money for his bosses in Delhi."
His comments, aimed at highlighting the physical toll of the union workers' jobs, served as a pivot to level serious allegations of corruption and political subservience against the current state administration.
KTR addressed the 18th Formation Day celebrations of the Hamali Union in Mallapur, where he urged workers to remain united and expressed confidence in the party's future political trajectory.
Expressing gratitude to the workers for their invitation, KTR underscored the importance of worker solidarity. "I request all of you to stay united and strong," he stated, while setting a clear political target for the party's cadre and supporters. "Let us definitely make KCR the Chief Minister in another two years."
Addressing the concerns of the labour community, KTR assured the gathered union members of the party's commitment to their welfare. "I am letting you all know that no matter what small problems you have, we will definitely resolve them," he added, reinforcing the BRS's outreach to the working class.
The event, marked by the union's 18th anniversary, served as a platform for KTR to rally support among the labour force, emphasising a vision of political revival for the party in the coming term.
Earlier on July 5, KTR warned that BRS would lay siege to the Kannepalli Pump House with "50,000 to 60,000 people" if the Telangana government continued to ignore interests of farmers and failed to utilise the available Godavari waters.
Leading a BRS delegation to the Kannepalli Pump House in Bhupalpally district to inspect the alleged wastage of water, KTR accused the state government of failing to operate the pumping infrastructure to provide irrigation benefits to farmers.
Addressing a press conference during the visit, KTR said, "The party would lay siege to the Kannepalli Pump House with 50,000 to 60,000 people if the government continued to ignore the interests of Telangana's farmers and refused to utilise the available Godavari waters."
He further warned the government to immediately operationalise the pumps. "Switch on the Bahubali pumps and provide water to farmers. If the government fails to act, we will march to Kannepalli, lay siege to the Pump House and ensure that the pumps are switched on," KTR said.
