Katihar (Bihar) [India], November 4 : Hitting out at Mahagathbandhan's Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the RJD leader of "demeaning" the entire minority community of Seemanchal by allegedly branding him an "extremist."
Addressing a public rally in Katihar on Monday, Owaisi said Yadav was behaving like the "younger brother" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spreading hatred. He asserted that Yadav's comments would not affect him, claiming that the people of Seemanchal would give the RJD leader a befitting reply.
"Tejashwi has demeaned the entire minority community of Seemanchal... Tejashwi is acting like a younger brother to PM Modi and expressing his hatred... Tejashwi can say whatever he wants... Lalu's son says I am an extremist. His statement makes no difference... The people of Seemanchal will teach him what an extremist is," Owaisi said.
Earlier, on November 2, Owaisi shared an audio clip on social media related to Tejashwi Yadav's interview, in which the RJD leader allegedly referred to him as an "extremist."
"Tejashwi Yadav called me an extremist after seeing the cap on my head and the beard on my face. This is an insult to the entire Seemanchal community," Owaisi wrote on X.
On Sunday in Kishanganj, the AIMIM chief mocked Yadav over the alleged remark, asking him to spell the word "extremist."
"An interviewer asked Tejashwi why he did not form an alliance with me. He said, 'Owaisi is an extremist, a fanatic, a terrorist.' I ask Tejashwi, 'Babu, extremist ko zara angrezi mein likh ke bata do.' He calls me an extremist because I follow my religion with pride," Owaisi said at the rally, a clip of which the AIMIM leader posted on his X.
