New Delhi [India], January 1 : Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal on Thursday said Hindu minorities are being framed in false cases and being killed in Bangladesh under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus adding that their houses are being burnt, and shops have been destroyed.
Speaking to ANI, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal said, "The violent incidents that have taken place in Bangladesh against minorities have been exposed by one of their own human rights organisation. The report suggests that over 300 Hindus and other minorities were killed under the Yunus government. 197 incidents took place in 2025. Hindu minorities are being framed in false cases and being killed. Their houses are being burnt, and shops have been destroyed. Even the prisoners in jail are not safe. Many incidents have taken place in the Dhaka Central jail."
He further said that he made a tweet and tagged UN Secretary General, UN High Commission for Human Rights, OIC and asked if Islam permits such killings.
In a post on X, Vinod Bansal shared, "Widespread cases of human rights violations have emerged in the interim government of Bangladesh led by Muhammad Yunus. According to a report by the human rights organization Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), 293 people have been killed in mob violence since 2024. In 2025 alone, 197 deaths from mob violence, 107 custodial deaths, and 38 extrajudicial killings have been recorded. Persecution of minorities, particularly Hindus, has increased, and journalists have also faced torture. These include 'mob violence'--that is, Mob Violence--extrajudicial killings, custodial deaths, persecution of minorities, political violence and murders, and suppression of press freedom. People were beaten and killed on the basis of rumors."
He said that this report has not been issued by any Hindu organisation, India, or a minority rights group, but by a human rights organisation from Bangladesh itself.
"In fact, it is not just a report but a resounding slap on the face of the Bangladesh government and Muslim and human rights advocacy organisations worldwide who have kept their lips sealed even in such a horrific situation. Not only that, the Bangladesh police is diluting charges against those perpetrating violence against minority communities, particularly Hindus, by dismissing such incidents as accidents or personal disputes. There are also instances where Hindus have been portrayed as outsiders or Indian agents. Jamaat-e-Islami, much like Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, has become a shield for violent individuals and terrorists," he further shared.
Earlier, the Daily Star reported that a Hindu youth identified as Amrit Mondal was lynched at Hosendanga village of Kalimohor union in Rajbari's Pangsha sub-district over an extortion allegation.
The murder of Mondal took place days after the mob lynching and burning of the Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das, in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district.
