"Historic Day": CM Vishnu Deo Sai after Amit Shah lays foundation stone for forensic institutes

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 22 : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday labelled the laying of foundation stones for National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) as a "historic day" for the state.
"Today is a historic day for Chhattisgarh as the foundation of the National Forensic Science University and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory was laid in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Chhattisgarh today received a gift in the form of these two institutes," Sai said.
The CM said that establishing these two institutions would play a crucial role in investigating cases. "With the establishment of these two institutes, Chhattisgarh is going to receive National recognition, and it will play a significant role in the probe of cases," he added.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts to eradicate Naxalism.
"Naxalism, which was a bigger obstacle in the development of Chhattisgarh, is getting clear under the leadership of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah," Sai added.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma said that forensic science would play an important role in cases where punishment was more than seven years and institutions like NFSU and CFSL were yet to be developed in several other states.
"After the implementation of BNS and two more laws, forensic science plays a key role in cases wherein punishment is more than seven years," Sharma said, adding, "These two institutes are yet to be developed in several big states."
"In recent years, extensive efforts have been made to strengthen the forensic science laboratory, and the government, under the leadership of Vishnu Deo Sai, provided the necessary help in this direction," he added.
He said the CM has allocated seven acres of land for the development of the forensic science laboratory in Naya Raipur.
Shah on Sunday said that the setting up of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Nava Raipur would further advance and strengthen the criminal justice system of Chhattisgarh and central India.
"Today marks an important day for Chhattisgarh's criminal justice system. In a way, three new initiatives are being started to further advance the criminal justice system: The laying of the foundation stones for National Forensic Science University and Central Forensic Science Laboratory laid today, along with the transit campus of NFSU inaugurated," Shah said while addressing the gathering here.
"The move will strengthen the criminal justice system in central India," he said.
Shah informed that the Chhattisgarh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 5,000 crore at the investment summit held this year, which would bring industries to the state.
