Jul 28, 2025
New Delhi [India], July 28 Communist Party of India (CPI) MP P Sandosh Kumar said on Monday that he is hoping to "expose the failures of the government" in the handling of the response to the Pahalgam terror attack, during the special discussion to be held in Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor.
"Today, we are going to discuss the Pahalgam attack, lapse of government security, the failure of our government, especially the foreign ministry and related issues. The Pahalgam attack and thereafter, post this incident, there have been some developments. For all this, we will initiate a discussion, and I hope we can expose the failure of the government," the CPI MP told ANI.
Notably, Samajwadi Party MP Awadesh Prasad too expressed confidence that "everything will be cleared" during the discussion planned in the house. He also questioned the steps taken by the government and the help given to the bereaved families.
"When there is a discussion in the Parliament, everything will be cleared. This is what everyone wants to know. The people want to know what steps the government has taken in this regard, how many terrorists we have killed and what the government has done for the bereaved families," SP MP told ANI.
A fiery debate on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor is expected to unfold in Parliament between top leaders from the ruling alliance and the opposition.
Twenty-six civilians were killed in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, after which India retaliated through precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Even since the monsoon session began on July 21, the Parliament has witnessed constant adjournments amid uproar over the demands of the opposition to push for a debate on issues of public importance, including the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack and the ongoing SIR exercise being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
