Bidar (Karnataka) [India], April 26 : Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda gave credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making India one of the world's largest economies and said that he has brought a change in the country and has been moving ahead with new development plans during the past decade.
The BJP chief also said that while the economies of countries such as Europe, Japan, and Russia are faltering, India is moving forward like a bright star.
While addressing a public rally in Karnataka's Bidar on Friday, Nadda said, "10 years ago people used to say that there would be no change in the country, all the politicians would run the country like this and that all the leaders are alike, none interested in bringing a change in the country."
"However, in the present day, Prime Minister Modiji has transformed the country in the past decade and has been taking the country towards development," he said.
The BJP chief further said, "While the economies of US, Europe, Russia, Japan and Australia are faltering, the IMF and NITI Aayog of India or Morgan Stanley of the world have said that if there is any shining star or a bright spot, then it is India."
JP Nadda said that India which ranked 11th in the GDP rankings is presently the 5th largest economy in the world, adding that the country has surpassed even Britain, an economic power that ruled the country for almost 200 years.
"Humne Britain ko pichada hai, jisne hume 200 saal tk rule kia," said Nadda.
Urging the voters of the state to cast their franchise in favour of the BJP, Nadda said, "With your blessings, your strength, Bhagwanth Khuba will become MP again and PM Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time and in two years India will rank third in economic power."
He told voters that the ongoing elections are the elections to resolve to make India a developed country in the future.
"Ye chunaav humko aage chalkar bharat ko Viksit Bharat ke sankalp ko pura karne ka chunav hai," he stated.
Adding further, Nadda listed out the progress in various segments of the country and said, "You will be happy to know that India has defeated Japan to become the third largest automobile market in the world."
"You will also be happy to know that India has become the dispensary of the world and ranks second in the world in medicine manufacturing," he added.
He proudly said that if there is any country that manufactures economical and effective medicines in the world, it is India.
"If there is any country that manufactures economical and effective medicines in the world, it is India. Our exports have increased by 138 per cent. If we talk about petrochemicals, the country's exports have seen a rise of 106 per cent in the export," he said.
He added India which was once dependent on China for raw materials and steel manufacturing now ranks second in the manufacturing of steel components, adding that India is also growing ahead in the toy industry.
"A decade ago, all mobile phones used reflect "Made in China, Made in Taiwan, Made in Japan." Now you can see mobile phones that are "Made in India, Made in Bharat. Even Apple is manufacturing its products in India today. From every perspective, the country is moving forward towards development," stated the BJP chief.
The BJP chief said that there is no appeasement, and no special treatment being meted out to anybody and if there is really someone who requires preferential treatment, then it would include the poor, the deprived, the oppressed, the Dalits, the exploited, the women, the youth, the farmers.
"These are the people who will get strength, and for whom work will be done," he said.
"No appeasement, no special treatment' agar special treatment milna hai toh vo milega gaon, gareeb, vanchit, peedit, dalit, shoshit, mahila, yuva, kisaan ko, unko taakat milegi, iske liye kaam hoga," said Nadda.
Earlier in the day, BJP chief JP Nadda held a roadshow in Karnataka's Kalaburagi.
The voting on 14 seats was held today in Karnataka alongside 12 other states/Union Territories.
In the second phase, the voting was held in 88 Lok Sabha constituencies across 13 States, in Union Territory, including 13 in Rajasthan, 20 in Kerala, eight in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam and Bihar, six in Madhya Pradesh, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, and one each in Tripura, Manipur, and Jammu and Kashmir.
The first phase of voting in 102 constituencies across 21 states, UTs were held on April 19.
The third phase of the seven-phase parliamentary elections will be held on May 7 and the final phase will be on June 1.
The results will be announced on June 4.
