"Make in India and Vocal for Local set to gain new momentum," says PM Modi ahead of his visit to UP, Rajasthan tomorrow

New Delhi [India], September 24 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on Thursday. Ahead of his visit, PM Modi said the tomorrow programme will give a new momentum to the government's resolve of 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local.'
PM Modi will inaugurate Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2025 at Greater Noida, and thereafter, he will visit Rajasthan to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth Rs 1,22,000 crore at Banswara.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Tomorrow, on 25 September, our resolve for a developed India along with 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local' is set to gain new momentum. Around 9:30 in the morning."
Speaking about UPITS, PM Modi said that the trade show will highlight India's strength from the IT sector to the textile sector and open new doors of opportunities for exporters.
"I will be part of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Greater Noida. Through this event, the world will witness India's strength from the IT sector to the textile sector. This will open new doors of opportunities for exporters as well as small businesses and everyone else," he said.

Speaking about his Rajasthan visit, PM Modi said, "The development program to be held in Rajasthan tomorrow will provide new strength to the energy security of not only the state but also the country. In the afternoon around 1:45 PM in Banswara, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than 1 lakh 22 thousand crore rupees. These include not only atomic power projects but also schemes related to health, infrastructure, and water conservation. In addition to handing over appointment letters to more than 15,000 youths here, there will also be an opportunity to interact with the beneficiaries of the PM-KUSUM scheme."
In line with his commitment to Make in India, Vocal for Local and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2025 (UPITS-2025) at Greater Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
The trade show, under the theme "Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here", will be held from 25th to 29th September. It will have three core objectives- innovation, integration, and internationalization. A three-pronged buyer strategy will target international buyers, domestic Business-to-business (B2B) buyers, and domestic Business-to-Consumer (B2C) buyers, providing opportunities for exporters, small businesses, and consumers alike, according to a release from PMO.
UPITS-2025 will highlight the state's diverse craft traditions, modern industries, robust MSMEs, and emerging entrepreneurs on a single platform. Key sectors that will be represented include handicrafts, textiles, leather, agriculture, food processing, IT, electronics, AYUSH, among others. It will also feature Uttar Pradesh's rich art, culture, and cuisine under one roof.
Russia will participate as a partner country, adding strategic significance and opening avenues for bilateral trade, technology exchange, and long-term cooperation. Over 2,400 exhibitors; 1,25,000 B2B visitors; and 4,50,000 B2C visitors will participate in the trade show.
In Rajasthan, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects of the central and state government worth over Rs 1,22,100 crore at Banswara.
In line with his commitment to transform India's power sector to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable power supply for all, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Ltd's (ASHVINI) Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (4X700 MW) worth around Rs 42,000 crore. It will be one of the largest nuclear plants in the country, supplying reliable base load energy, and will strengthen India's position in environmental stewardship and the evolving nuclear energy landscape.
Furthering the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project comprises four indigenous 700 MW Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors with advanced safety features, designed and developed by NPCIL. It is part of India's broader "fleet mode" initiative, where ten identical 700 MW reactors are being built across India under uniform design and procurement plans. The project will bring in cost efficiencies, faster deployment, and consolidated operational expertise.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of green energy projects worth around Rs 19,210 crore in Rajasthan. He will inaugurate solar projects at Phalodi, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Sikar, among others. He will also lay the foundation stone of the solar project at Bikaner. Additionally, he will also lay the foundation stone of a Solar Park at Ramagiri in Andhra Pradesh. The projects will significantly contribute to India's clean energy capacity, generating substantial amounts of green power while preventing millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of three power transmission projects worth over Rs 13,180 crore under the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) initiative of the Government of India, which aims to develop 181.5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 across eight states. To ensure efficient dispersal of this renewable power towards load centers and to enhance grid stability, PowerGrid is implementing key transmission systems for Rajasthan REZ.
It includes 765 KV transmission lines from Beawar in Rajasthan to Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh and extension of associated substations; from Sirohi in Rajasthan to Mandsaur and to Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, along with augmentation of transformation capacity at Sirohi Substation and extension at Mandsaur & Khandwa Substations; and 765 KV & 400 KV transmission lines from Bikaner in Rajasthan to Siwani and Fatehabad in Haryana and further to Patran in Punjab along with establishment of substations at Bikaner and extension of Siwani Substation. Cumulatively, these projects will facilitate the seamless transfer of 15.5 GW of green energy from generation hubs in Rajasthan to demand centres in beneficiary states across India.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of three Grid Substations (GSS), which include 220 KV and associated lines at Jaisalmer and Bikaner. He will also inaugurate a 220 KV GSS at Shiv in Barmer district. These projects, worth over Rs 490 crore, will significantly contribute to ensuring energy security in the region.
In line with his commitment to empower farmers, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Feeder Level Solarisation projects of 3517 MW, worth over Rs 16,050 crore, in the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka under PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Scheme (Component C). The agricultural feeders are being solarised to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable irrigation power, benefiting lakhs of farmers by lowering electricity costs, cutting irrigation expenses, and promoting rural energy self-reliance, the release added.
In a major boost to the Ramjal Setu Link Project and furthering his vision of water security, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple water resources projects in Rajasthan worth over Rs 20,830 crore. He will lay the foundation stone for the construction of various feeders from Isarda, the construction of Mor Sagar artificial reservoir in Ajmer district and its feeder from Chittorgarh. Other works include the intake pump house at Bisalpur Dam, the rejuvenation of the Khari feeder and various other feeder canal works. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Isarda Dam, Dholpur Lift Project, and Takli Project, among others.
In line with his commitment to safe and clean drinking water for all, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for major drinking water supply projects, worth over Rs 5,880 crore, in Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Ajmer, Bhilwara districts, among others, under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
In a major boost to road infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the construction of flyovers at Bharatpur city, a bridge over the Banas River, and 116 Atal Pragati Path projects. He will also inaugurate and dedicate to the nation multiple road projects related to National and State Highways in Barmer, Ajmer, and Dungarpur districts, among others. These projects, worth over Rs 2,630 crore, will improve regional road connectivity, ensure smoother traffic and enhance road safety.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 250-bed RBM Hospital in Bharatpur, an IT Development and E-Governance Centre in Jaipur, a sewerage system including treatment plants and pumping stations in Makrana city, and a sewerage and water supply project in Mandawa and Jhunjhunu district.
In a major boost to rail connectivity, the Prime Minister will flag off three trains, Vande Bharat Express Train between Bikaner & Delhi Cantt, Vande Bharat Express Train between Jodhpur & Delhi Cantt and Udaipur City - Chandigarh Express. These trains will significantly improve connectivity between Rajasthan and other northern states.
Furthering his vision of employment for all, he will distribute more than 15,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in Government departments and organisations in Rajasthan. These include over 5770 animal attendants, 4190 junior assistants, 1800 junior instructors, 1460 junior engineers, 1200 third-grade level-2 teachers, among others, the release added
