Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 5 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the INDIA bloc over "appeasement politics" and said that the Muslim community has now realised that the Congress has turned them into a "muhara" (pawn) and is getting rid of their deceitful politics and vote-bank contractors.
Addressing a public rally in Sitapur on Sunday, PM Modi said, "All the Muslim brothers and sisters are watching that all of them including the Muslim community have been receiving benefits of the numerous schemes of the central government."
"The benefits of PM Awas Yojana, Nal Jal Yojana, and Ujjawala Gas Yojana, have been received by all, including the Muslim community, without any kind of discrimination," said PM Modi.
He added, "The Muslim community has also understood that the Congress and INDIA bloc have made them a 'muhara' (pawn). Now the Muslim community is also getting rid of this deceitful politics and all these vote bank contractors."
"And that's why to save the Muslim vote bank, the Congress and INDIA bloc have started playing games and have come out in the open to appease them. This is the reason that the Congress manifesto carries the imprint of the Muslim League," said the PM.
Prime Minister Modi further said that the INDIA bloc has taken a step forward in appeasement.
"Even BR Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru had clearly said earlier when the Constitution was being formed that reservation would not be given based on religion, but the Congress and INDI alliance are adamant on giving reservation on the basis of religion and are preparing ground to break the country once again," said PM Modi.
PM Modi further accused Congress of including Muslims as a whole in the OBC list in Karnataka "through the backdoor" and promoting reservation on religious lines in violation of the Constitution.
"Overnight, all Muslims, regardless of wealth or social status, were turned into OBCs by the signing of a piece of paper. OBC reservation rights were snatched clandestinely and illegally and given to Muslims," said the PM.
The Prime Minister said that the Congress put a "daaka" into benefits of the OBCs.
"Jin OBC ko 27 per cent milta tha, pehle jinko benefit milta tha, unke benefit mai daaka dala," said PM Modi.
Reiterating his promise to protect the Constitution, PM Modi said, "As long as Modi is alive, I will not let them play with the Constitution of the country. As long as I am alive, I will not let reservations be given on the basis of religion. I will let no one steal the reservations provided to the SC, ST and OBC," said PM Modi.
The Prime Minister went on to say that the INDIA bloc is focused on the public's wealth while under the BJP, all schemes reach the poor.
"BJP Sabka Sath Sabka Vishwas ke saath kaam ke mantra par kam kar rahe hai," said Prime Minister Modi.
