Oct 15, 2025
Patna (Bihar) [India], October 15 : Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal on Wednesday said that the ruling NDA is going into the Bihar Assembly elections with "rock-solid unity."
Jaiswal made these remarks after he and Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha met senior BJP leaders.
Speaking to ANI, Jaiswal stated that the Rashtriya Lok Morcha will also be given an MLC seat.
"The NDA is going into the elections with rock-solid unity. Upendra and everyone else will be working together on nominations starting tomorrow... Along with the six assembly seats he (Upendra Kushwaha) has been given, the BJP will also give him an MLC seat," Jaiswal said.
Rashtriya Lok Morcha had given indications that it wanted more seats as part of NDA
Jaiswal also took a dig at the opposition Mahagathbandhan as they are yet to declare their final seat-sharing formula for the Bihar Assembly elections, even as only two days are left for the nomination for the first phase of the polls.
"In the mahagathbandhan, Rahul Gandhi scolded some people in Delhi and after that, their candidature envelopes were taken back. Some people from the Mahagathbandhan are still running towards NDA, so all this will continue. It will continue for a day or two. But we five Pandavas are going to the elections with our rock-solid unity," he said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already announced its two lists of candidates.
The second list of 12 candidates was announced today and the party has declared names on 83 out of 101 seats it is contesting as part of seat-sharing distribution within the NDA.
NDA allies Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) have also announced candidates for the Bihar polls.
The Election Commission issued a notification on Monday for the second phase of the state's assembly polls.
The polling for the 243-seat Assembly is scheduled to be held on November 6 and November 11, with counting set for November 14.
