'Ocean's Eleven' prequel adds Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Omar Sy

Jul 07, 2026

Washington [US], July 7 : Bradley Cooper's untitled 'Ocean's Eleven' prequel has expanded its ensemble cast, with Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Lauren Ridloff and Jack Holden officially joining the Warner Bros. Pictures project.
French actor Omar Sy is also in negotiations to board the comedic heist thriller, adding further international star power to the film, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
The latest additions join a cast that already includes Bradley Cooper, Margot Robbie, Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro and Josh Gad.
Cooper is directing, writing, producing and starring in the prequel, while Robbie is also serving as a producer through her LuckyChap banner alongside Tom Ackerley.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, production is expected to begin in late July in Paris before moving to the South of France.
Unlike the earlier 'Ocean's' films, which followed mastermind Danny Ocean and his crew and featured George Clooney in the lead role under director Steven Soderbergh, the upcoming film will not bring back Clooney or the original team.
Instead, the prequel is set as a period piece during the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix.
Robbie and Cooper are understood to be playing the parents, while Wagner Moura will portray the film's new villain. The roles of the newly announced cast members have not been disclosed, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros. has scheduled the film for release on June 25, 2027. Previous drafts of the screenplay were written by Carrie Solomon.
Vicky Krieps gained international recognition after starring opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in Paul Thomas Anderson's The Phantom Thread (2017). She later received the Un Certain Regard Best Performance prize at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival for portraying Empress Elisabeth of Austria in Corsage.
Omar Sy is widely known for his breakthrough performance in The Intouchables. His recent film credits include The Killer, The Book of Clarence and Shadow Force. He will next be seen in Lupin Part 4, arriving in October, and recently completed production on Netflix's Mercenary: An Extraction Series.
George MacKay, best known for 1917, recently won a British Independent Film Award for Femme. His upcoming projects include Sense and Sensibility and the period drama Cry to Heaven.
Lauren Ridloff, who earned a Tony Award nomination for Children of a Lesser God, is known to audiences for her performances in The Walking Dead and Marvel Studios' Eternals.
Jack Holden, an Olivier Award winner, is recognised for stage productions including Cruise and KENREX: A True Crime Thriller, the latter earning him a Best Actor honour. His screen credits include Ten Percent and The Levelling.
Filming is set to begin in France later this month.
