"Our govt will not spare accused be it anyone," says MP CM Mohan Yadav on arrest of Sresan Pharma Owner

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 9 : After the arrest of owner of the Tamil Nadu-based Sresan pharmaceuticals company, manufacturer of Coldrif cough syrup linked to 20 children's deaths in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the state government would not spare any accused and strict action would be taken.
Speaking to reporters in Bhopal on Thursday, CM Yadav said, "In the Chhindwara cough syrup deaths incident, we had constituted an SIT which had nabbed the medicine manufacturing company owner. Our government will not spare the accused, be it anyone, and stringent action will be taken."
He further added, "We will not tolerate any wrongdoings, or if any mismanagement or negligence is found then our government will take the stringent action in the same way. During the formation of SIT, I had said and now repeating it again that we would not spare the guilty be it anyone."
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla also said that the state government is quite active in taking action in the matter over the death of 20 children linked to cough syrup in the state, adding that the owner of the pharma company was arrested and he would be brought here on transit remand.
"The state government is very active in taking action in this matter. As soon as we came to know about the children's death due to Coldrif cough syrup, manufactured by Tamil Nadu based Sresan Pharmaceutical company, an immediate case was registered and an SIT was constituted. Yesterday, the owner of the Coldrif cough syrup manufacturing company was arrested, and he will be brought here on transit remand," Shukla told ANI.
The Deputy Chief Minister further emphasised that the state government is working in a sensitive manner, with the CM Mohan Yadav visiting Chhindwara and he also met the affected families. The drug controllers have been advised to ensure that such medicines should not be found in the market again in the future.
Earlier today, Chhindwara Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Pandey said that the owner of the Tamil Nadu-based Sresan pharmaceuticals company was arrested and he would be brought to Chhindwara after completing the formalities in Chennai.
"The SIT that left from Chhindwara has arrested Sresan Pharma owner Ranganathan. He was rounded up late at night and then arrested. As part of the procedure, his medical examination will be done and other proceedings will be undertaken in Chennai. Then after he will be brought to Chhindwara," Pandey told ANI.
