New Delhi [India], July 29 : Bharatiya Janata Party MP Jagdambika Pal on Tuesday slammed Congress and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of misleading the entire country, asserting that Prime Minister Modi has clearly said that no leader in the world "compelled India for a ceasefire".
"Congress party and Rahul Gandhi were misleading the entire country...Today, PM has said that no leader in the world compelled us for a ceasefire...He also noted that even in the time to come, if Pakistan doesn't mend its ways and keep nurturing the nursery of terrorism, they will be taught a lesson just like this...," Jagdambika Pal told ANI
"He (PM) has clearly stated that no leader in the world forced us (for a ceasefire)..." the BJP MP added.
Meanwhile, another BJP MP, Ravi Kishan, lauded PM Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha speech, stating that he has said what the opposition wanted to hear from him. Kishan said that the opposition was misleading the country; however, the truth came out.
"This is a big truth. PM Modi has said today what the Opposition wanted to hear. The opposition was misleading. Truth has come out today...", he said.
Earlier today, while speaking in the Lok Sabha during Operation Sindoor discussion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that no world leader told India to stop its operation.
"No leader in the world told India to stop its operation. On the night of 9th May, the Vice President of America tried to talk to me. He tried for an hour, but I was in a meeting with my army, so I could not pick up his call. Later, I called him back. The Vice President of America told me on the phone that Pakistan is going to launch a big attack. My answer was that if Pakistan has this intention, it will cost them a lot. If Pakistan attacks, we will respond by launching a big attack. This was my answer...," PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister described the ongoing Parliament session as a "Vijay Utsav" (victory celebration), celebrating India's military strength and national unity after the success of the armed forces.
He said that the Indian armed forces were given a free hand to take their own decisions when the conflict with Pakistan escalated in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor on May 7.
"Right after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan had this idea that India would indeed take major action and started making nuclear threats. On the intervening night of 6-7 May, India took action just as decided. Pakistan could not do anything. Our armed forces avenged 22nd April within 22 minutes with precision attacks ... We destroyed terrorist camps in different corners of Pakistan," the Prime Minister said.
"I had said that this is a session of India's 'Vijay Utsav' ... When I am speaking of 'Vijayotsav,' I would like to say - ye 'Vijay Utsav' aatanki headquarters ko mitti mein milane ka hai." When I say "Vijay Utsav, it is about India's brave and valiant defence forces. When I say Vijay Ustav, it is about the unity of 140 crore Indians," the PM stated in the Lower House of the Parliament.
