"PM Modi doing work of uniting India...": BJP's Bhawna Bohra
Dec 10, 2025
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 10 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bhawna Bohra praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing the work of uniting India, which was "divided by Congress".
Praising PM Modi's address during the special discussion on Vande Mataram in Parliament, the BJP leader said that the Congress always viewed the Prime Minister's actions through a "political lens," without caring about the nation's interests.
"The Congress and some of its leaders look at everything raised by the BJP government or PM Modi through a political lens. They are looking at Vande Mataram with a political lens, whether we look at triple talaq, NRC, any other laws which have been brought. Whatever laws PM Modi has brought for the country's benefit, Congress has objected to them," the BJP leader told ANI.
Criticising the Congress for "removing certain verses" from India's national song, she said, "The lyrics were made by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhya, and now when the verses are being added back, which should not have been removed in the first place. The manipulation which was done before, we are happy that PM Modi has done the work of adding the verses back. When we talk about India's integrity, this will increase the integrity."
Alleging that the Congress has sown "divisions" in the country, even in Bengal, she praised PM Modi for doing the work of repairing such divisions.
"The country has proven how much Congress cares for the country's welfare. If one looks at the history, the divisions they (Congress) have made, all the divisions in the country have been due to the Congress government and their politicians. But today, the country has gotten a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi who is doing the work to unite the country," she said.
Meanwhile, on the discussion regarding electoral reforms, the BJP leader hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state.
"Mamata didi's story is not hidden from anyone. Last time when elections happened, the way not just the BJP, but the common people were beaten up, those things were known to everyone. What is Mamata ji scared of? SIR is happening across the country. In Chhattisgarh, the SIR work is happening smoothly, but why is she only scared in Bengal? If a person is not a citizen here, it is a good thing if they have time to prove their documents; there is no need to protest. The Election Commission is doing its job very well. If there is any objection, then we have the judiciary; they should go through them and submit proof," she said.
On the recent remark of suspended Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu alleging that the CM's seat can be bought for Rs 500 crore, she said, "Such statements from their leaders show the mentality, corruption and the games that are going on. The BJP does not even need to say that the public is watching."
Earlier on Monday, the discussion on 150 years of National Song Vande Mataram in Lok Sabha saw leaders from various political parties highlighting the role played by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's composition in the freedom struggle, with BJP and opposition members also taking potshots at each other.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the debate and said Vande Mataram energised our freedom movement.
"It is a matter of pride for all of us that we are witnessing 150 years of Vande Mataram. Vande Mataram is the force that drives us to achieve the dreams our freedom fighters envisioned. Vande Mataram rekindled an idea deeply rooted in India for thousands of years," he said.
The Prime Minister said Vande Mataram was the all-encompassing mantra that inspired freedom, sacrifice, strength, purity, dedication, and resilience.
