New Delhi [India], July 21 : After Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Operation Sindoor as a 'Vijay Utsav', Congress MP KC Venugopal demanded a discussion on the issue in Parliament, saying that the Prime Minister should come and make a statement.
Speaking to reporters, Congress MP KC Venugopal said, "Our demand is that there should be a discussion, this is an important issue. We are proud of our country. The Prime Minister should come and make a statement."
Echoing similar sentiments, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji raised concerns over United States President Donald Trump's repeated claims of brokering peace between India and Pakistan.
Maji said, "It indeed would have been a 'Vijay Utsav', if under the pressure of America, ceasefire would not have happened, how can we say that this is a 'Vijay Utsav'?... America is taking credit for it...US President Donald Trump also said that five jets were taken down...There should be clarity, as the public is very confused"
Noting India's recent achievements in different sectors, including space and defence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that this Monsoon Session marks the celebration of "victory."
