"Public is angry with BJP": Saurabh Bharadwaj slams Rajkumar Chauhan's threat to demolish market

New Delhi [India], September 12 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj on Friday slammed BJP MLA from Mangolpuri for threatening people with demolishing a market if the attendance at the new Sanjay Gandhi Trauma Centre inauguration is low.
He said that the Delhi public is angry with the BJP, and now crowds are being gathered through threats and intimidation, while pointing out the irony that this trauma center, Asia's largest, was actually built under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership.
Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP is trying to steal credit for the project. He referenced previous instances where the BJP allegedly forced people, like MCD sanitation workers, to attend rallies, indicating public discontent with the BJP.
The AAP Delhi unit chief said the hospital was built under Arvind Kejriwal's government, with his own 2023 inspection video already in the public domain, yet the BJP is attempting to pass it off as a "birthday gift" from the Prime Minister.
Sharing the video of Mangolpuri BJP MLA, where he threatened shopkeepers to attend the inauguration ceremony on his X post, Bharadwaj said, "BJP MLA from Mongolpuri, Rajkumar Chauhan, has issued an open threat: if you people don't show up at the inauguration, if there's no crowd at the inauguration of the new Sanjay Gandhi Trauma Center, then I'll demolish the market. The funny thing is that Asia's largest trauma center was built by @ArvindKejriwal ji. People of Delhi also know that the BJP's CM is just coming to steal the credit, so no crowd will gather. It has been seen before that to gather a crowd for the PM's rally, MCD sanitation workers were forcibly stuffed into buses and sent. But even then, a crowd couldn't be gathered. This clearly shows that the public is angry with the BJP, and now crowds are being gathered through threats and intimidation."
In the purported video, Chauhan is heard saying, "Whether you understand it with love or with intimidation -- in 20 days the Trauma Centre inauguration will take place. If, when our respected CM comes, there is no crowd, then every single person, every child from this market must reach there. I swear on Baba that I will destroy this market."
According to the website of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, the Hospital was commissioned in April 1986 as one of the seven 100-bedded hospitals planned by the Government of NCT of Delhi during the 6th Five-Year Plan under the Special Component Plan for Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribes. Later bed strength was increased to 300 beds in 2010. The hospital has a 150-bed complex dedicated exclusively to Maternity (100 Beds) and Paediatrics (50 beds).
