"Remain careful in public utterances in future": ECI warns TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu

New Delhi [India], May 6 : The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday issued a warning to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu over his remarks on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The poll body cautioned the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to remain "careful in his public utterances in the future".
"Whereas, the Commission has carefully gone through all the available records and report of the CEO, Andhra Pradesh and is convinced that Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has violated the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and above said instruction dated 2nd January 2024 and aforesaid advisory dated 1st March 2024 of the Commission; and therefore, the Commission, without prejudice to any Order/Notice issued or to be issued in the matter relating to MCC violations to Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, hereby, strongly censures Sh. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu with the direction to remain careful in his public utterances in the future," the poll body said.
Earlier, Chandrababu Naidu at Tanaku said "Jagan Reddy is a fake fellow, not a normal fake fellow, but a big scamster. Kill SC and tribes and deliver at their doorstep".
In Pedana, Chandrababu Naidu targets Jagan Reddy saying "Lord Shri Ram killed Ravanasura, what do you people have to do, What will you do to Jagan, the demon?
The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh will be held on May 13.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats. In the Lok Sabha polls, the YSRCP won 22 seats, while the TDP could only win three seats.
