Shehzad Poonawalla calls INDI Alliance "Tukde-Tukde" over Praveen Chakravarty's TN-UP debt remarks

New Delhi [India], December 29 : BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday alleged deepening infighting within the INDI alliance, describing it as a "tukde-tukde" coalition lacking mission or vision.
The remarks come in the backdrop of Praveen Chakravarty, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, sharing data on X (formerly Twitter) comparing state debts of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to ANI, Poonawalla said Rahul Gandhi's aide Praveen Chakravarty's comments endorsing Yogi Adityanath's model over Stalin's indicate Rahul Gandhi's stance. Poonawalla asserted that the INDI alliance exists only on paper in states including Delhi, Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
"Every day, we see a new fight emerging within the INDI alliance. It is a 'tukde-tukde' alliance. No mission, no vision, only confusion. Yesterday, we saw Kerala CM fighting with Congress on a bulldozer. Today, Congress has attacked DMK... They are endorsing Yogi ji's model and dismissing Stalin's model. This has been done by Rahul Gandhi's very close aide, Praveen Chakravarty. That means Rahul Gandhi has said it. The INDI alliance is only on paper... nowhere in Delhi, Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala and now in Tamil Nadu," he said.
Poonawalla further criticised Congress's handling of alliance dynamics, stating, "Congress is unable to accept the reality. It considers itself a big brother everywhere. But now nobody takes Rahul Gandhi seriously... Congress leaders and alliance partners are not taking Rahul Gandhi seriously. So this is also heading towards a triple talaq."
Earlier on Sunday, Praveen Chakravarty took to X to share graphical data comparing the state debt between Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh and wrote, "TN has the highest outstanding debt of all states. In 2010, UP had more than double the debt of TN. Now, TN has higher debt than UP. TN's interest burden (%) is the 3rd highest after PB & HR. TN's debt/GDP is still much higher than pre-COVID levels. TN's debt situation is alarming!"
