Nashik (Maharashtra) [India], September 14 : Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Jayant Patil on Sunday slammed the Central government over the India-Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup, alleging that their "colour keeps changing after every month."
"The leaders of the BJP were saying two months ago that blood and water will not flow together, and today they are saying that we will play cricket against Pakistan. Their colour keeps changing after every month, and this is why our foreign policy has been failing continuously, and the world has experienced this," he told reporters.
Additionally, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant also criticised the Centre for the same, suggesting that the match should not take place after the Pahalgam terror attack.
"You said that people were asked whether they were Hindus or Muslims, and they were shot if they were Hindus. Twenty-six women were widowed. Will we play the match even after seeing the response of Aishanya Dwivedi (wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi)?" he said.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the Indian cricket team is adhering to the rules while justifying India's scheduled cricket match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
"But when international matches are held and we want to continue as part of international tournaments, we have to be a part of it under compulsion. The country does not want to play against Pakistan very happily," Maurya said.
Meanwhile, women workers of Shiv Sena (UBT) on Sunday staged a protest in Mumbai with 'sindoor', opposing India's participation in the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, scheduled for today.

The high-voltage contest will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in India's second Group A fixture. Both teams are heading into the contest on the back of convincing wins in their respective openers.
Ahead of the clash, there had been a widespread demand from the opposition to boycott the match. However, the Centre had issued no objection from the Indian team to playing against Pakistan in any multi-nation tournament.
