Patna (Bihar) [India], October 17 : BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday questioned the delay in Mahagathbandhan's seat-sharing arrangement for the Bihar Assembly election, suggesting a lack of coordination and "craving" to gain power in the alliance.
On the other hand, Manoj Tiwari cited the example of the NDA alliance, which has already shared the seat-sharing arrangement and named most of the candidates for the Bihar polls.
"Where hearts haven't even met among themselves, there's just a craving to be in power; that's exactly what happens, as is happening in the Mahagathbandhan. The NDA has already finalised the seat sharing a long time ago, and after that, today is the last day for our nominations," he said.
Unlike NDA, Mahagathbandhan has not announced a seat-sharing arrangement, but it has named its candidates for the assembly election. The Congress party released its first list of 48 candidates. Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Rajesh Ram will contest from the Kutumba Assembly seat, while Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan will fight from the Kadwa constituency.
Additionally, speaking about Prashant Kishor's announcement not to contest the election, Manoj Tiwari said, "The big people who used to make tall claims have fled the field. We can't even see P.K. (Prashant Kishor). The sentiment of Bihar is with the NDA."
Manoj Tiwari also congratulated Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav for securing a ticket from RJD.
"Youth and artists should come into politics. But after coming, being able to serve will be a challenge for them. Best wishes for how they will be able to do it," he said.
Khesari Lal Yadav will contest from Chapra. He will be up against the BJP's Chhoti Kumari.
The polling for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is scheduled to take place on November 6 and November 11, and votes will be counted on November 14.
