"...Today, farmers are being paid for their produce." Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath highlights improvement in farmers' welfare during Deendayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsav

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) [India] September 19 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted improvement in farmers' welfare during Deendayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsav on Friday.
In his speech, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh stated that farmers are now receiving payment for their produce. He highlighted that through various social insurance schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, farmers are able to pay their loans.
"Through various schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, 11 core farmers via 6,000 given by the government, farmers have become free from moneylender clutches", said Adityanath.
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister further said that startup schemes, such as Mission Rozgar, have changed the lives of the youth.
"The work of linking the workers with their social security insurance scheme has been done. Mission Rozgar, startup, and standup schemes have changed the lives of the youth...Today, Indian youth is not a job seeker; it has the ability to be a job creator..."
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister also emphasised that women are becoming self-reliant by establishing businesses in readymade garments and continue to be an inspiration for others.
"Thousands of sisters are leading their lives on the path of self-reliance through readymade garments and are an inspiration to others...If we are 'Swadeshi', then we are strong and self-reliant..." said Yogi.
Meanwhile, during his visit, Uttar Pradesh's chief minister also paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. In a social media post on X, Yogi Adityanath described the late politician as a man who gave a new vision to India.
"Today, we are remembering that great man who gave independent India a new vision. He acquainted us with those aspects of India and Indianness on whose foundation the 'Developed India' is based. Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji has internalised the mantra of the pioneer of Antyodaya, the revered Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay ji, and has worked to make the impossible possible. Salutations to the sacred memories of the revered Pandit ji!" wrote Yogi Adityanath.
Earlier, while addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state has undergone a major infrastructure transformation under his government, with metros, airports, and highways setting new records.
"When we came to power, there was not a single city in Uttar Pradesh where the metro was operational. Today, the metro is operational in six cities in Uttar Pradesh," Adityanath said
He pointed out similar progress in aviation, saying the state's airport network had expanded eightfold in just over seven years.
"Before 2017, there were two airports in Uttar Pradesh. Today, there are 16 airports. The country's largest airport will be in Gautam Buddh Nagar, and it will be operational by the end of this year," the Chief Minister said. Adityanath also underlined road connectivity improvements, claiming Uttar Pradesh now "has the best national highway network."
During the press conference, he also mentioned that with the construction of the Ganga Expressway, the state will account for 60 per cent of the country's expressway network in future.
"Earlier, we were far behind in terms of expressways, but with the construction of the Ganga Expressway, Uttar Pradesh will account for 60 per cent of the country's expressway network, making it the state with the largest expressway network." said Yogi Adityanath.
