Truck plunges into gorge in Shimla; No loss of life reported

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 14 : A truck plunged into a gorge near the village Juni on the Mandhar-Palyar Road in Himachal's Shimla district on Thursday, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Shimla said.
There were two people in the truck at the time of the accident, DDMA said, adding, "Both are safe. No loss of life has been reported"

The vehicle is owned by Surender Kumar, a resident of Bangala Colony, Shimla, it added.

Border Security Force's Sub-Inspector Vyas Dev and Constable Suddi Rabha are among those 16 personnel who have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the 79th Independence Day for showing their exceptional bravery and unmatched valour exhibited by them in Operation Sindoor. In addition, the President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) to five and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) to 46 are also awarded to BSF officers and personnel.
