Erode (Tamil Nadu) [India], December 6 : Tamil Nadu Victory Party (TVK) leader K.A. Sengottaiyan on Saturday predicted that Vijay will be crowned with victory by the people in 2026, while addressing a memorial service for jurist B.R. Ambedkar in Gopichettipalayam, Erode district.
Speaking to ANI, Sengottaiyan said the services were held across Tamil Nadu on the orders of the youth's rising hero."On the orders of the youth's rising hero, a memorial service for the jurist Ambedkar was held across Tamil Nadu today. Arrogance hides the truth. The youth's rising hero, who should crown Tamil Nadu by the people, said that the future of Tamil Nadu is going to be crowned with victory by the people in 2026," he said.
Earlier, TVK chief Vijay welcomed KA Sengottaiyan, former MLA and expelled AIADMK leader into the party fold, saying that the former Gobichettipalayam MLA's political experience and decades of field work will be a great strength to the party.
"After having remained in the same movement for 50 years, I warmly welcome brother Sengottaiyan along with everyone who has joined him to work with us, with the confidence that his political experience and decades of field work will be a great strength to our Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam," the TVK chief said in a self-made video.
"Sengottaiyan joined with MGR's at the age of 20, having earned his trust. At that young age, he took on the significant responsibility of becoming an MLA. Within that movement, he was someone trusted by both the great leaders MGR and Jayalalithaa in the political arena," he added.
Expelled AIADMK leader and nine time MLA KA Sengottaiyan joined Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) along with his supporters on November 27, a day after he resigned as Gobichettipalayam MLA.
Sengottaiyan holds sway in Erode district, having being elected from his home constituency around nine times. With just over 7 months left for the Assembly elections set to happen in 2026, him joining the TVK could sway the winds in favour of TVK in Erode.
KA Sengottaiyan hails from Kullampalayam village near Gobichettipalayam in Erode district, first elected in 1977 and has been a nine-time AIADMK MLA.
