Madhubani (Bihar) [India], October 27 : Bihar's political landscape is poised for a shake-up as Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party promises change.
Speaking to reporters at an election rally in Madhubani, the Jan Suraaj founder claimed that the voters are moving beyond fear-driven choices between Nitish Kumar-BJP and Lalu Yadav-RJD, offering a leaderless, caste-neutral alternative focused on Bihar's youth.
"You will see a new political history being written in Bihar, and the era that has been going on here for 30 years, where people vote for Nitish Kumar-BJP out of fear of Lalu ji, and for Lalu Yadav out of fear of BJP, is coming to an end. A new alternative is emerging in Bihar, and that alternative does not belong to any leader, any family, or caste... It belongs to the children of Bihar. If the Jan Suraaj Party government is formed, no one will have to leave the state for livelihood....," he said.
Prashant Kishor, on Sunday, also slammed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and wondered, "If the people who have ruined Bihar are called 'heroes', then who is the villain"?
Jan Suraaj's campaign kicks off post-Chhath Puja! Prashant Kishor's party is gearing up to hit the ground running from October 28.
"The campaign will start after Chhath Puja. We are meeting people and our colleagues... We will start the campaign from the 28th after Chhath," Kishor told reporters here during campaigning.
Answering a question on Mahagathbandhan Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav, who is also the leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, being called "Nayak of Bihar" on social media by his supporters, Kishore replied, "If the people who have ruined Bihar are heroes, then who is the villain? The people of Bihar know which people have brought Bihar to this state..."
"They can't be Nayak of Bihar, " he asserted. Jan Suraaj, seen as the third alternative for voters in the assembly poll, is contesting on all 243 seats.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday assured voters that his alliance would deliver on every promise made. He took a sharp dig at the NDA, saying that "no one in NDA is saying anything except abusing Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav".
He further hit it out at the NDA over its unfulfilled commitments, saying, "What happened to the two crore jobs, Startup India, Make in India? We believe in doing the work. We are telling everything to the people about what we will do in the next 5 years."
Tejashwi also took aim at the NDA's campaign strategy, saying that instead of addressing key issues, the alliance was focused on personal attacks."No one in NDA is saying anything except abusing Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. This time, people of Bihar are impatient for the change," he said.
Mahagathbandhan earlier declared Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face for the Bihar assembly polls, while also naming Mukesh Sahani of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) as Deputy CM candidate.
The voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results declared on November 14.
