Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 8 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that he would welcome positive criticism and discussion on any topic, be it from the opposition, the media or the common man.
CM Yadav made the remark while talking to reporters after the two-day Collector-Commissioner conference concluded in the state capital Bhopal on Wednesday.
"In the two-day Collector-Commissioner conference, a discussion was held on how the administrative system can function effectively and efficiently at the grassroots level. I had said yesterday as well that the administrative machinery should work in coordination with elected public representatives to ensure that every government scheme reaches the people at the ground level. Our officers should assist everyone and work in the direction of making governance more organised and effective," CM Yadav told reporters.
Highlighting the recent Chhindwara incident, the CM said that when any incident occurs due to negligence, it causes a lot of pain.
"At the same time, it is true that in such a large state, whenever an unfortunate incident occurs due to any lapse in the system, it causes deep pain. When negligence happens and we lose our people, then it causes a lot of pain. Be it the recent Chhindwara incident. I asked our Health Minister to visit Nagpur where children are undergoing treatment, and he also visited Chhindwara," the CM said.
He added, "Overall, it is our collective accountability. I would like to say to members of my party as well as to those in the opposition that elections come once in five years, but in the time between them, mutual understanding and compassion must continue. I do not mind positive criticism, provided the right things are said within respectful bounds. We will welcome positive criticism and discussion on any topic, be it from the opposition, the media or the common man."
