Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], January 6 : BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan on Tuesday slammed Congress and other political parties for "not being concerned" about the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and urged all human rights and Hindu organisations to come together in this regard.
Referring to recent events, the BJP leader condemned the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh, adding that the people associated with "communism", who raised their voice for Gaza, are keeping a blind eye to the Bangladesh issue.
"The atrocities against Hindus are increasing day by day in Bangladesh...In Gaza, during the Israeli attack, the people who are associated with communism, the Congress, and other political parties came forward and reacted... Why are they silent on the Bangladesh issue?" Rajasekharan told ANI.
He further launched an attack on international organisations for not taking any action, alleging that assistance is being provided to those "involved in these atrocities."
"Second, organisations such as Amnesty International are not at all concerned about taking any action in this regard. Why are they not sending any representative to Bangladesh? While the Hindus are being tortured, these types of progressive elements in our political scenario are purposely keeping mum. They are giving all kinds of assistance to the people who are involved in these atrocities..." he added.
The BJP leader called for human rights and Hindu organisations to take collective action on the matter.
" All human rights organisations and Hindu organisations should come together to eliminate the people who are attacking the Hindus," he added.
His remarks come as earlier today, another Hindu businessman named Mani Chakraborty was murdered in Bangladesh. Abdullah Al Faruque, Police Super (SP) of Narshigdhi, confirmed the incident.
"Mani Chakraborty, a resident of Palash upazila in Narsingdi district, was on his way home from his business after 9 pm on Monday night when assailants stabbed him right in front of his house", Abdullah Al Faruque told ANI over the phone on Tuesday.
"We haven't been able to uncover the reason behind the murder yet, but we are trying to catch the suspects", he added, without elaborating.
This is the second murder that happened on the same night in Bangladesh. Just a short while before Moni Chakraborty's killing, another businessman named Rana Pratap Bairagi was murdered in the Jessore district in the southern part of the country.
