Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 10 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the Centre for allocating a 4000 MWh battery energy storage system under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme.
In a post on X, the Rajasthan CM said the move will help the state achieve targets set under green energy
"I express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal ji for providing central assistance to Rajasthan by allocating 4000 megawatt per hour (MWh) battery energy storage system under the VGF scheme by the Union Ministry of Power.
"I am confident that this visionary decision will not only give a new direction to the energy sector in the state but will also play an important role in achieving the goals of green energy," he added.
The Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme is a government initiative in India designed to support infrastructure projects that are economically beneficial but commercially unviable. It provides financial assistance, in the form of grants, to these projects, making them financially attractive to private investors.
Earlier today, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government on the occasion of its 11th anniversary.

In 2014, we were in 11th position in terms of economy, we came in 5th position, and now we're in 4th."
Noting achievements under PM Modi's 11-year tenure, he said, "PM Modi focused on GYAN--Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata, and Narishakti."
