Mar 11, 2022
New Delhi, Mar 11 (ANI): Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s allegation over postponing MCD Elections, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi on March 11 said that such allegations on principal institutions (Election Commission) do not seem gracious. She also took a dig at CM Kejriwal for making fake promises in 2020 of giving 20 per cent of the budget to local bodies. She also added that he has started the process of removing Municipalities While speaking to ANI, she said, “Such allegations on principal institutions (EC) do not seem gracious. I do like to ask Arvind Kejriwal, can any city survive without Municipal Corporation? As he has now started the process of removing Municipalities.”“Arvind Kejriwal made a fake promise in 2012 that he will give 20 per cent of the budget to local bodies, but even the 7-8 pc of budget which is being given to the municipalities is being scammed with. Isn't this against municipality reforms?” Lekhi added.
