Apr 23, 2026

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has launched the ‘Ahmedabad Innovation and Startup Policy 2026,’ positioning the city as a “living laboratory” for urban solutions. The policy reserves up to 15% participation for startups in civic projects above ₹50 crores and is backed by a ₹250-crore Innovation Fund. Startups can access financial aid exceeding ₹35 lakhs, tax concessions, and civic infrastructure support. Focus areas include traffic management and waste solutions. Gujarat’s iHub will act as the technical backbone, while a digital portal will streamline access to projects, funding, and mentorship. Open to DPIIT-recognized startups, students, and innovators, the initiative aims to strengthen urban governance through innovation and position Gujarat as a national model for startup-driven development.
