New Delhi, Jan 24 (ANI): The proposed amendment in Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Cadre Rules is to assure that the government would get more officers in the Central deputation reserve, said Apurva Chandra, Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on January 24.“The proposed change in IAS, IPS, and IFS Cadre Rules is that the Government of India should get more officers in central deputation reserve. As of now, there is only about 18 per cent of officers who are in all central deputations, compared to the requirement of 40 per cent,” said Chandra. “The role of Centre is to frame policies and to also make sure that the schemes are implemented and states also do their own role. However, governance will take a backseat if there is an inadequate number of officials at the central government,” he added.
