Assam-Mizoram border dispute: 4 additional CRPF companies deployed, informs DG

New Delhi, July 27 (ANI): The Director General of Central Reserve Police Force Kuldiep Singh on July 27 said that four additional companies of CRPF were sent to the disputed area as neutral forces, two companies already present there. The current situation is peaceful. “Yesterday, tension escalated on Assam-Mizoram border when police forces of the two states entered into a clash over a disputed border area. It further escalated when they fired bullets at each other. The situation was brought under control with the intervention of CRPF. Assam Police has been retreated from the disputed area; Mizoram Police continues to stay at their temporary posts. Four additional companies of CRPF were sent to the disputed area as neutral forces, two companies already present there. Senior officials are also present. The current situation is peaceful,” said DG CRPF Kuldiep Singh.
