Awami league workers protest at UNHRC over Bangladesh political crisis

Workers of the Awami League held a demonstration on the sidelines of the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council, raising concerns over alleged political repression and human rights violations in Bangladesh. Former Bangladesh Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Mohammed Hasan Mahmud alleged that Pakistan’s ISI was involved in the political developments surrounding Bangladesh’s August 2024 government change, he also raised alarm over the human rights violation in Bangladesh. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also virtually addressed the gathering, speaking about the political situation and the treatment of Awami League leaders and supporters.
