Bank deposit insurance cover increased to Rs 5 lakh: Piyush Goyal

Pune (Maharashtra), Dec 12 (ANI): Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended ‘Depositors First: Guaranteed Time-Bound Deposit Insurance Payment up to Rs 5 Lakh' payment programme in Pune on December 12. “A total of 17 banks have failed in returning money to their depositors. The deposits of Rs.1 lakh has been increased to Rs.5 lakhs”, said the Union Minister while addressing the gathering at the event.
