Cabinet approved 75 new medical colleges with focus on rural areas: Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on August 28 approved the proposal of 75 new medical colleges that will be established by year 2021-22, informed Prakash Javadekar, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting. While addressing a press conference on cabinet meeting held on August 28, Javadekar said that the move is taken to add 15,700 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) seats in the country.The scheme will focus on rural areas where there are no medical colleges till date, Javadekar further added.
