New Delhi, India (ANI): Speaking at the Bharat International Rice Conference 2026, Koya S.A Cameroon CEO Elimane Seyni Eric Kane said Cameroon is looking to import around 150,000 tonnes of rice from India this year, mainly 25% and 5% broken white rice. He said the projected imports are higher than last year, despite rising prices across global markets. Kane also highlighted the impact of political tensions, freight charges and higher oil prices on rice trade, adding that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has increased transportation costs and the cost of rice packaging materials.
