Chennai Police gears up for new year celebrations, 10,000 police personnel deployed

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Dec 30 (ANI): Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, Chennai Police Commissioner on December 30 urged public to follow COVID-19 guidelines and briefed about the preparations for new year celebrations. While talking to ANI, Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal said, “Celebrations on the beaches and on the roads leading to the beaches are also banned. Hotels and restaurants can operate but dancing and DJs are not allowed. Around 10,000 police officials will be on duty on the night of December 31.”
