Feb 14, 2022
Jaipur (Rajasthan) February 14 (ANI): Reviewing the coal supply virtually, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot directed the officers to ensure the availability of coal in sufficient quantity to the power stations as per the demand so that power generation is not hampered anywhere in the state. For this, all alternative measures should be considered. The CM instructed the Minister of State for Power and the Additional Chief Secretary of Department of Energy to keep constant contact with the Union Ministry of Coal and Coal India Limited to increase the supply of coal. He stressed that efforts should be made to provide more rakes from railways to the state for speedy lifting of coal from coal mines. Along with this, the possibilities of increasing production from private thermal plants of the state including imported coal or power purchase through short term tender should also be worked out. The Chief Minister said that the concerned officers should regularly review the arrangements for the allocation of new coal blocks, smooth transportation and storage of coal for smooth supply of electricity in the state.
