CPI inflation by 7 per cent in March 2022 propelled by food inflation: RBI Governor

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): The sharp acceleration in headline CPI (Consumer Price Index) inflation in March 2022 to 7 per cent was propelled in particular by food inflation, the RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das informed on May 04. “Nine out of the 12 food subgroups registered an increase in inflation in the month of March. High-frequency price indicators for April indicate the persistence of food price pressures,” he said further.
