Kathmandu (Nepal), October 30 (ANI): Heavy snowfall and rainfall triggered by Cyclone Arnab have disrupted trekking activities across several parts of Nepal, leaving around 250 domestic and foreign tourists stranded in high-altitude regions. The Kanchenjunga trekking route has been particularly affected, with trekkers unable to continue their journeys due to heavy snowfall at higher elevations and freezing temperatures in lower areas. Tourists have taken shelter in hotels, lodges and settlements along the trekking routes, with several accommodation facilities reportedly filled to capacity. Meanwhile, foreign tourists heading towards Makalu Base Camp through the Lumbasumba Pass have also been held up in Olangchungola. Domestic tourists travelling towards Singje have similarly been unable to proceed due to adverse weather conditions. Authorities and Armed Police Force personnel have advised tourists to remain in safe locations until weather conditions improve. No disaster-related incidents have been reported in the district so far.
