Cyclone Asani: Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over north Andaman in next 36 hours

New Delhi, Mar 21 (ANI): India Meteorological Department (IMD) on March 21 predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over north Andaman in next 36 hours. While speaking to ANI, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Senior Scientist, RK Jenamani said, “As per latest update, Depression over north Andaman Sea has intensified into a deep Depression. It has moved 20 km/hour in last 6 hours. It now lies over north Andaman Sea and adjoining SE Bay of Bengal, distance is 140 km east-northeast of Port Blair.” “So, for all the sea areas, including Andaman Sea and east-central Bay of Bengal, we have given a strong warning. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over north Andaman expected, Nicobar will not experience much rainfall. This is for next 36 hours,” Jenamani added.
