Day 3 of India Maritime Week 2025: VOC Port Showcases Strength at Tamil Nadu’s Special Session

Mumbai (India) A special Tamil Nadu State Session on Day 3 of India Maritime Week 2025 spotlighted the state’s maritime growth and future vision with a special focus on VOC Port, Tuticorin’s pivotal role in driving sustainable growth within India’s blue economy. VOC Port Authority Chairman Susanta Kumar Purohit presented the port’s strategic expansion, connectivity, and sustainability roadmap, through an insightful video presentation. State Minister TRB Rajaa reaffirmed that Tamil Nadu’s initiatives strengthen India’s maritime ecosystem and also made a pitch for investments. The dignitaries noted the development of minor ports, green ports, and the Institute of Maritime Excellence in Tamil Nadu, and called it a “state of possibilities” in the maritime sector. The session underlined Tamil Nadu’s growing maritime influence and reaffirmed VOC Port’s leadership in advancing green initiatives, innovation, and connectivity—cementing its position as a driving force in India’s sustainable maritime future.
